Project Summary
Migrating AWS Redshift to Azure SQL Data Warehouse. Azure SQL Data Warehouse has a pause and start function, is a high performance, lower-cost solution with an ability to scale and compute storage, less time is involved in installation and maintenance, includes various demographics tables and could run some queries in order to extract patients information.
Challenge
Migrating from AWS Redshift to Azure SQL Datawarehouse. Also, migrating queries from AWS Redshift environment to Azure SQL Datawarehouse environment.
Solution
IFI Tech used PolyBase which uses T-SQL to join data which will help to move data from AWS Redshift to Azure SQL Datawarehouse. We moved data into the internal table and used PolyBase to run queries on external table, we performed migration using different customer designed queries.
