Project Summary

As a rapidly expanding player in the lubricant industry, our client sought a viable and economical business intelligence (BI) tool that could seamlessly align with their exceptional growth rate. The solution required report automation, incremental refresh capabilities, and an array of visually appealing features. To address these needs, a cost-effective Power BI dashboard solution was implemented, enabling data integration from multiple sources, preserving critical business logic, and delivering a user-friendly interface that outshines other reporting solutions in both functionality and aesthetics.

Challenge

Our esteemed client, a prominent player in the oil manufacturing industry, sought to enhance their executive decision-making process by enabling comprehensive year-over-year analysis of their oil products. However, the existing reporting solution posed challenges as it required extensive manual importing of data spanning the past 3-4 years, alongside predictions for the future. The client stored a significant amount of information in separate spreadsheets, resulting in time-consuming manual loading processes and a fragmented reporting environment. These inefficiencies not only impeded decision-making but also hindered executive consumption due to the lack of intuitiveness. To address these issues, the client sought to automate this cumbersome process, eliminating the need for manual spreadsheet loading and streamlining data integration from multiple sources.

Solution

In our commitment to delivering exceptional business intelligence solutions, we deployed a highly skilled team of Power BI consultants and engineers to collaborate on-site with our valued client. Over a span of 20 working days, our dedicated team successfully crafted three critical reports and twenty business reports, tailored to meet the specific requirements of our client’s operations. The development process involved extensive engagement with their business, IT, data, and SAP vendor teams, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their processes and leveraging SAP Business Warehouse for data extraction. Leveraging the robust capabilities of Microsoft Power BI, our reports encompassed a wide range of features, including incremental refresh, drill-up and drill-down functionalities, automation, natural language Q&A, and the inclusion of custom visualizations. This collaborative effort enabled our client to harness the power of data-driven insights for more informed decision-making.
